II Kõlleste Bike Marathon - Allan Oras Cup 2016

The second Kõlleste Bike Marathon - Allan Oras Cup takes place on 17 April in Kõlleste rural municipality of Põlva county as one of the biggest opening events of cross-country cycling season in Estonia.

 

The competition includes a 55 km main race and a 30.5 km short race. In addition, children and youth races take place. Scooter riders are also welcome.

One of the organisers of the competition is Allan Oras, the European Champion of Mountain Bike Championships.

Course description

  • The distance of the main race is approximately 55 km and distance of the short race (incl. scooter race) is 30.5 km.
  • The distance of youth race is 3 km and the distance of children race is 300 m.
  • The cycling course runs mostly on forest and gravel roads. The course runs partly on public roads.
  • Traffic restrictions apply to public roads and local roads. The participants must adhere to traffic rules and orders of authorised officials.
  • There is a service and food station in the crossing of upper and lower part of the course.
  • The organisers have the right to change the distance of the races.

 

Age groups

 

Main race

  • Main class, men (1977-1999)
  • Main class, women (1977-1999)
  • M40 (1967-1976)
  • M50 (1966 and older)

Older and younger men/women can also take part in the main race. In this case, the result of the participant is registered in the age groups mentioned above.

 

Short race

  • M16 (2000 and younger)
  • N16 (2000 and younger)
  • Main class, men (1957-1999)
  • Main class, women (1982-1999)
  • N35 (1981 and older)
  • M60 (1956 and older)
  • Scooter riders, men
  • Scooter riders, women

 

Youth race

  • P7 (2009 and youner)
  • T7 (2009 and younger)
  • P12 (2003-2008)
  • T12 (2003-2008)

 

Children race

  • 2011 and younger

 

Timing

Electronic chips are used for timing. The chip is fastened to the backside of the race number. The chips cannot be removed or damaged in any way (e.g. folded). The chip can be used only once, it is not necessary to return it to the organisers.

 

In order to get a result, the participant must have the race number visible on the handle bar during the entire bike marathon from entering into the starting corridor until crossing the finish line, the timing chip encoded for the corresponding number is fastened to the backside of the race number. It is not allowed to reduce the shape and size of the race number by cutting or folding the edges.

 

The results are disclosed as initial unofficial results in the course of the competition on the information board of the finish site. Official results are published at www.sportos.eu and www.meieliigume.ee the day after the competition.

 

Awarding

  • The best participants of all age groups are awarded.

The first three finishers of the men and women main race receive a monetary award.

Participation fee includes:

  • Marked and secured course
  • Race number
  • Timing with chip and result in the protocol
  • Medical aid
  • Catering at service points and after the competition
  • Memorial medal

 

  • All participants of children and youth races receive a memorial medal, a diploma and a memento.

 

Re-registration is possible until 11 April via e-mail info@meieliigume.ee. Re-registration is not possible on the competition day on site.

 

Start fee is not refunded upon dropping out of the competition.

 

Start fee is not refunded if the event is cancelled or postponed due to reasons not depending on the organisers.

 

Other information

  • The competition is carried out according to the competition instructions of the second Kõlleste Bike Marathon - Allan Oras Cup 2016.
  • In order to get the result, the competitor must cover the entire competition course.
  • Additional help may not be used for moving on the course.
  • One cannot change bicycle on the course.
  • It is obligatory to adhere to traffic rules, traffic signs, signposts, instructions of authorised officials and organisers - the competition course may cross with or run on public roads.
  • Competitor's licence is not obligatory for participating. All who wish to participate are welcome at the start line.
  • One can only participate under his/her own name.
  • Bicycle class is free.
  • The organisers do not offer spare parts and bicycle tyres; it is recommended that the participants take these along.
  • When noticing people in need of help on the course, please notify the service point, authorised officials, medical staff with distinguishing marks moving on the course or call 112.
  • There are two service points in the competition course (one service point for short race participants) and food and beverage are offered in the finish for the participants.
  • Vehicles of technical aid of teams are not allowed on the course. The competitor must himself/herself fix the technical malfunction with means brought along.
  • Medics in the competition ensure initial medical aid.
  • Participation is on one's own responsibility. By going to the start line, the competitor confirms that he/she has examined the competition instructions and accepts everything provided in there, his/her state of health is suitable for the competition and he/she is aware of all the related risks. Upon accident, each competitor will cover the damages himself/herself and will not file any claim against the organiser.
  • It is obligatory to wear a bicycle helmet.
  • It is strictly forbidden to throw garbage on the ground on the course. The organisers have the right to disqualify the competitor who threw garbage on the ground on the course or to impose a fine of up to 100 euros.
  • All issues not discussed in the instructions are solved by the organisers.
  • The organisers have the right to supplement or amend the instructions.
